St George's is a Church of England primary school which joined the Cranmer Education Trust in September 2015.
The school's ethos is built on strong Christian values, encouraging children to develop positive attitudes to learning and develop inquisitiveness about the world around them, helping them to grow into model citizens within the community and achieve their ever-increasing potential. Parents, staff and governors work in partnership to ensure that children thrive in an inclusive and caring environment.
The mission statement is for pupils to 'let our light shine'.
St George's is located in East Crompton to the north of Oldham, it has an attractive site with large attractive grounds and in 2014 the school was extended with four new classrooms. In Summer 2019, the Early Years area was redeveloped to offer a state-of-the-art provision for the youngest children.
In December 2019 St George's was judged as Good by Ofsted under the new framework, and in 2016 it was deemed outstanding in the SIAMS Inspection, which reflects the Christian value and ethos of the school.
St George's values all its staff, developing them as professionals to bring their insight, creativity and commitment to the service of children, working closely and collaboratively with Mayfield Primary School which is also part of the Cranmer Education Trust.
St George's is easily accessible by car from Junction 21 of the M62.
