There are a range of roles and responsibilities at the Cranmer Education Trust, which is a growing and forward-thinking school Trust. We welcome and appreciate diversity and believe this creates excellence. Staff are supported to be the best they can be and we provide a developmental and welcoming environment.
At the Cranmer Education Trust, we work collaboratively, share good practice and have a Trust-wide approach to development. Schools and colleagues within them can achieve more than they could individually. We strive to ensure all our staff are able to build an excellent provision for our children and young people, and aspire to be a centre of excellence.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Head of Computing
The Blue Coat School
2015
The Trust has a sense of moral purpose, and values. It serves all members of the
local community. I was born and raised in Oldham myself and it's a satisfying
experience to be able to change so many lives for the better.
I'm proud to be able to give back to those who gave me so much; through my school
(Blue Coat), through being able to work collaboratively with teachers in our partner
primaries in my subject specialism (and teach Yr 5 and 6 pupils computing algorithms
without using computers), through helping to train new teachers through our
teacher-training arm Manchester Nexus, and more widely through our Teaching School
Alliance, the Northern Alliance. I've developed as a teacher, and as a person.
Site Manager
St Georges Primary School
June 2011
I enjoy working with such highly motivated and professional colleagues. When you work alongside people of high calibre it pushes you to lift your game. I find that no two days are the same, and there are many opportunities to work on larger projects. With these projects we're encouraged to develop our skills and qualifications. Since 2011 the number of pupils in school as nearly doubled and the building as grown to accommodate them but the desire here to excel as grown too.
Trust Payroll / Senior Finance Officer
The Blue Coat School
August 2012
I had worked in Finance before but not for a couple of years and I was pleased to get back into a finance role. I like managing and monitoring budgets and ensuring they are accurate. I enjoy a balance of regular routines and variety within my role. I look after the monthly payroll for Blue Coat and find this element of the role very satisfying. I hadn't worked in payroll before working here and have learnt new skills to do this. My role requires me to work with lots of people: teachers throughout the school, support staff and students. I really like working with different people for the varied elements of the role.
Head of Key Stage 2
Mayfield
August 2015
I am proud to be part of the Cranmer Education Trust and I believe that every child, in every school, should have the same opportunities and I feel this is strong within the Trust. I was encouraged to take part in the Teaching Leader's Programme (Ambition School Leadership) and have completed my first year (Sept 17 – July 18). This has enabled me to develop as a leader / leader of the future and have the confidence and self-belief I may not have previously had. I am driven by the team spirit at Mayfield and the 'family feel' in school. We work together to achieve.
Director of Learning
The Blue Coat School
2010
The vision and values of the Trust match up with my own; helping young people become
everything they can be, and everything they are meant to be. These core values of
the CET make me proud to work here due to the impact you can make with the
students.
The pupils are the reason you come to work in the morning. It's a cliché, but
everyday is different. It's what makes it interesting. It's a privilege to work
within a Trust that has impacted on the future of so many young people and will
continue to for years to come. The Cranmer Education Trust and Blue Coat School have
always created pathways for progression from all stages in my career development.
Strategic Director of Teacher Training and Development
East Manchester Teaching School Hub
April 2014
I have been a teacher and leader at The Blue Coat School. I now lead the Teaching School Hub. The Cranmer Education Trust drives me to want to achieve my own potential. What we stand for aligns completely with my own values – doing our utmost to make a positive contribution to young people, supporting and developing their teachers at each stage of their career, and playing an active role in the communities that we serve.
My wider career development has also been supported by the CET. And presented many opportunities that enabled me to develop the leadership skills, knowledge and confidence for the position I now hold.”
Primary Maths Specialist
Works with the Trust
August 2012
I have been trusted and supported in developing my role. I have had some freedom in
developing maths knowledge and skills, and been enabled to implement them across
school, with the complete backing of school leaders and the Trust, at all levels,
including Mark Couper-Barton (HT) and Julie Hollis (CEO). Colleagues have embraced
changes and new working practices with enthusiasm and openness.
The Trust has invested in me as a teacher and as a maths leader through Maths Hub
training. In 2017-18 I was a class teacher for 3 days a week, and on the fourth I
developed as a nationally accredited Mastery Lead.
Deputy Headteacher
The Blue Coat School
September 2010
My vision and way of thinking has always been valued by the Trust and they've really
nurtured me. I've gone from an enthusiastic, 'buzzy' classroom teacher to a
strategic and passionate leader but one thing has always remained the same: the
pupils, their progress but above all their happiness is the most important thing to
me and I've never had to compromise those values.
Deputy Headteacher
St Anne's Academy
September 2017
I feel honoured and privileged to be Deputy Headteacher at St Anne’s Academy. Through Joining the Cranmer Education Trust, our school has embarked upon a very exciting journey towards rapid and sustained school improvement.
Personally, since joining Trust, I feel I have had excellent support from colleagues at all levels across the organisation which as a result, has brought about significant improvements in our school’s curriculum, assessment and remote learning platform. As an SLE within the Trust I really enjoy working with teachers and leaders on developing practice across our schools and working collaboratively with other schools across the North West.
Throughout my career I’ve benefitted from excellent career development opportunities and feel this has only been strengthened through the professional support I have received since joining St Anne’s Academy. As the Deputy Headteacher at St Anne’s, I look forward to the next chapter in our school’s improvement journey and immersing myself in the excellent support and development opportunities that are available to all staff across the wider Trust.
