Mayfield Primary school joined the Cranmer Education Trust in January 2016.
Mayfield believes in the unique worth and value of every individual, every child is equal, worthy of respect, entitled to nurture, opportunities, and a future where they can and will make positive contributions as they go along. The school aims to provide all children with the very best teaching and learning, an excellent curriculum and strong pastoral support, in order to thrive and reach their full potential. Both adults and pupils support each other and the values of the school.
The school's Mission statement is "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow"
The school is located in Derker, which is close to the centre of Oldham, very close to a Metrolink station. The school has a strong reputation in the local community and aims to become a centre of excellence in the heart of the community.
In July 2018 Mayfield was judged as Good by Ofsted, and in September 2020 the school expanded to two-form entry, building up from Nursery and Reception by one class each year, enabling 30 more children from the local area to attend.
Mayfield values all its staff, developing them as professionals to bring their insight, creativity and commitment to the service of children, working closely and collaboratively with St George's CofE Primary School which is also part of the Cranmer Education Trust.
